Vancouver pride 2011 is almost here, and I’m going to be a busy boy. I’ve booked some amazing gigs over pride week and I hope to see you all down at one (or all) of them! Here are the details:
Thursday, July 28th: Loud & Proud @ Jlounge
This will be a great pride showcase night at the Jlounge! We kick things off at 9:30 with local legend Norine Braun who will perform her folky funk rock, then I will do a 30min set (with Tara C Taylor backing me up!) and Canadian pianist/singer/songwriter Jeffrey Straker will close things out with his incredible piano-pop cabaret! Pay what you can at the door.
Saturday, July 30th: Outgames Closing Party @ Plaza of Nations
This is going to be such a huge show! The entertainment goes from 11am – 11pm with headliners Ace of Base, Dragonette and Carole Pope. I am thrilled to be a part of this stage. My 20min set will be at approx 3pm so do come early! Other acts include Sugarbeach, Kim Kuzma and Will Blunderfield. Tickets are $45 and are available through the Outgames website.
Sunday, July 31st: Vancouver Pride Festival, Mainstage @ Sunset Beach
This will be my 8th year involved in the amazing Vancouver Pride festival and once again I’m honored to be on the stage. There is a huge list of amazing performers for the day. My short set will take place around 3pm, and once again I will be performing with Tara C Taylor on backups. Check out more info on the event on the pride webpage! This is a free and family-friendly event!
Monday, July 25th & August 1st: 4U pride shows @ Numbers Cabaret
I will also be performing as part of the Numbers cabaret house band ‘4U’ on Mondays! We do fun covers ranging from 70s rock to current hits. We will cap pride week with some high energy music and drinkin. 10pm-midnight. $3 cover at the door.
Saturday, August 13th: New West Pride @ Tippery Park
Last year was a blast, and this year promises to be even better as New Westminster pride is going all out! Huge stage, top notch performers, and a whole day of free fun at Tippery Park. I’ll be playing a 45 minute set on the mainstage at around 4pm. Other acts include Faceplants, Lance Cardinal, and the amazing Sugarbeach! More info on their webpage.
