New Single ‘Hundreds or Fives’

I’m so excited to announce that my new single ‘Hundreds or Fives’ is coming on March 8th/23! This is the next single in a line of songs I’ll be releasing this year leading up to a full length album!

This song is quite different than the others, a swingin’ 6/8 ballad in the storytelling style of Rod Stewart with the pop orchestration of Rufus Wainwright. I recorded it with the full band at Rain City Recorders under the guidance of producer/engineer Matt Roach

This song talks about love surviving anything. A hurricane, an airplane, maybe even a gambling addiction!? Through changes in life it’s not the material objects that matter – love can endure; whether your pockets are full of $100’s or $5’s.

Matt really brought out the best of this song highlighting the subtle textures and not-so-subtle builds. It’s got an explosive bridge which is one of my favourite parts of all the new songs! Mikey’s drums shine so bright and there is even a group vocal moment… I can’t wait for you to hear it 🤩

The ‘Liberace’ style artwork was captured by the talented Vancouver photographer Cale Tian (go book him now!!!) and speaks to the campy, over the top vibe that this song is going for.

HoF was made possible with the generous support from Creative BC. Matt and I were successful last year in applying for a demo grant by submitting this song and one other. This opportunity brought the tunes to the next level!
