Peak Pride and Rebellious Unicorns are pleased to present our latest and greatest event, the Licorne Lounge… and no, that’s not some deviant term. It’s just unicorn in french.

We’re billing it as the kickoff for the Peak Pride season, since we can’t actually host a Peak Pride yet (they’re coming, we promise!). This one of a kind event is taking place at the Kelowna Community Theater on Saturday, January 22, and will feature drag performances, live music and plenty of good times.

We’re going to have musical performances from Matthew Presidente as well as Leila Neverland. The former plays the keyboard like my mom wishes I did, and the latter has a voice you just have to hear. Joining them will be local Kelowna diva, Sparkle. Oh, and of course three stars from the hot show Call Me Mother; Ella Lamoureux, Valerie Hunt, and season one winner, Toddy. The icing on the cake? We’ve managed to convince Scarlett Bobo to come join our crew. She starred, and was a finalist on season one of Canada’s Drag Race. She might even swallow some fire. Guess you’ll have to watch and find out.

Licorne Lounge is proudly sponsored by Air Canada, Absolut., Peak Pride and Unicorns.LIVE.

Pricing: Licorne Lounge is available LIVE for all Super Unicorn subscribers, and is available on-demand 48-hours after the live show; non-subscribers can purchase for $15 (tax included)

About the Performers

Scarlett Bobo

Scarlett BoBo (she/they) is the nightmarish brainchild of Matty Cameron. A fusion of Hollywood golden era icons and pop vixens of the 21st century. She has wowed audiences across the world with her fancy footwork, flawless face and impeccable charm and charisma.

Experienced in the art of aerial silks, fire swallowing and other circus-like acts. She loves impersonating some of our most cherished celebrities such as Cher, Liza Minnelli, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, Brittney Spears, Lady Gaga and her all-time favorite…P!nk. Not to mention her undying love for all things comics with her multiple cosplay looks such as X-Men’s Rogue, Phoenix and Mystique to her DC favorites; Poison Ivy, Cat Woman and of course, Harley Quinn! Wherever there’s attention, Scarlett craves it and commands it through her spicy mic and hosting skills.

She is a versatile vixen slaying audience across the United States, Canada and Europe for over 12 years. She’s performed coast to coast, throughout the prairies and into northern Ontario. She enjoys performing in Europe under the majestic lights of Paris, London, and Amsterdam making a name for herself amongst her audiences, friends and drag world family.

Lately, Scarlett has dedicated her time and directed her focus towards providing opportunities to new and upcoming performers in both Toronto and Vancouver.

Her groundbreaking new drag house competition, Absolut’s Empires Ball, is shining a brand-new spotlight on fresh and up and coming queer performers of all art forms. Absolut’s Empires Ball aims to spread positivity and light to drag artists all over Canada while showcasing the immense talent that comes from working together as a team.

Toddy

Toddy (they/them) is a high energy drag performer, standup comedian and singer-songwriter. Toddy has most recently been featured in OutTV’s new drag reality series “Call Me Mother”. Trained as an opera singer, they often find themself at the intersection of classical music and mainstream media. As a comedian, Toddy has been featured on CBCLOL, JFL42, JFL Northwest and the Portland Queer Comedy festival. They are the number one shrill icon!

Ella Lamoureux

A two-spirited person from the Yukon Territory. A proud Kaska Dena First Nations individual. Growing up in small northern towns he’s had to suppress her individuality and learn to express himself in a multitude of alternative ways. Art and performing were her outlets. Learning to love the journey was the first step in their happiness. Dustin became enamoured with Drag and later developed her drag personality Ella Lamoureux (she/her). A true charmer, Ella Lamoureux is Kelowna’s Sweetheart.

Valerie Hunt

Valerie Hunt (she/they) brings campy comedy to era inspired fashion looks. Val describes her look as a “campy, kooky, over the top, super saturated, larger than life cartoon diva.”

Sparkle

She twinkles, she glistens, she sparkles…and she’s the Okanagan’s cocktail queen! Known for her energy, charisma, sassy wit, and fabulous blonde hair, Sparkle (she/her) serves up a delicious combination of glamour, alcohol, and witty repartee.

Matthew Presidente

Rock/pop pianist/singer/songwriter Matthew Presidente (he/him/his) has been a part of the music scene in Vancouver for nearly 20 years. Independently recording and releasing 6 full length albums, he has been involved in a wide range of musical collaborations and performances. A local Metro Vancouver resident, Matthew was raised in Tsawwassen, where he began playing piano at 10 years old. Since then he has gone on to master guitar and percussion, but considers himself a piano player by trade. Referred to as “one of — if not — the best singer/songwriters our LGBT scene has” by Xtra Magazine (Vancouver), Matty has performed in rosters among headliners such as Ace of Base and Dragonette.

Leila Neverland

Raised by a Persian Zoroastrian villager, a family of Jewish immigrants, and a drag queen uncle, artist and mother Leila Neverland (she/her/hers) knows a few things about diversity, inclusivity, and unconditional love. She weaves an ambiance of true togetherness at every live performance and offers timely reflections of all that is life, death, and the decolonization of our collective consciousnesses. Neverland’s emotive energetic authenticity inspires pure joy, empowered rage, and healthful tears as she leaves audiences breathless and full. Her exquisite voice joins the ranks of those who inspire her like Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Bjork, Lady Gaga, and Amy Winehouse. She is currently working on a few singles, a couple music videos, and an album in beautiful BC, where she resides with her two children and her cat, Georgie.
