Review:

The amazing Check your Booty, aGay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender 4 day conference at UBC was a lot of fun, and the 190+ youths involved were treated to a solo performance of six songs at the SUB building on the second night! Matt played to the crowd, songs themed around gay issues, as well as personal health and well being, troubles surviving youth ect. The audience was quiet and respectful and enjoyed the performance immensely! Starting with a long piano intro to RED HOT MAMA, Matt got the crowd going. Keeping the pace with a loud, intense performance of TAKE ME FAR AWAY and then settling into a touching WILLOW after a short speech about suicide. WORTH HIS WHILE followed – excellent as usual, and Matt closed the show with “The first gay love song” AS I GO ALONG. A great performance as part of an amazing few days at UBC!
