Review:
The Perfect Show was a great concept put together by Ian malinski! He wanted to have a show that featured local acts performing together to make a great atmosphere and ambience in a live performance. Tonight was the first attempt at the tsawwassen arts center - and the four acts were Matthew, Ian Malinski, John Henville, and the band Second. Tonight's attempt was successful - the stage was set with tonnes of music gear, and incredible colorful lighting and decoration including two large televisions with Nintendo games looping on them. The crowd was unfortunately a little small, however, they were a great audience - for matt it was exciting cause there were many who hadn't seen him perform before.
Matt's set was performed solo at the grand piano, and his slightly drunken stage banter (a la feelin' good) made the show very entertaining and enjoyable. He kicked off the set with a pounding BOY OBSERVATIONS, and went right into RESTITUTION after - this is brad pedwell's song that is performed weekly at feelin' good, but matt did a beautiful solo piano rendition. It rocked. It rocked the cock. Next he performed OH GIRL which was a kickin' good time as it always is. Brad Pedwell joined matt on stage for the next bit and lead the audience in a rousing performance of BURN THE BLACK DRESS. The duo then performed FEELIN' GOOD (solo piano, without the guitar - although brad danced and played tambourine). SAVANA (matt's new song) was beautiful, MATH CLASS was glorious, and then for the grand finale WORLD IS WATCHING which was dedicated to andy roy even though the little pig-fucker wasn't even watching! :)
